Pan Yi, research fellow

Pan Yi, born in May 1960 in Wujiang, Jiangsu Province, Han nationality, is an expert in the field of bioinformatics, member of the American Academy of Medical and Biological Engineering, member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, foreign member of the National Academy of Engineering of Ukraine, member of the Royal College of Public Health of the United Kingdom, Dean and Chair Professor of the School of Computer Science and Control Engineering, Shenzhen University of Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Pan Yi studied at Tsinghua University from September 1978 to June 1982 and received a bachelor's degree in Computer science after graduation. In June 1984, he received his master's degree in Computer science from Tsinghua University. From September 1982 to September 1986, he was assistant professor of the Department of Computer Science, Tsinghua University. From September 1986 to January 1987, he was a teaching assistant in the Department of Computer Science, University of Calgary, Canada. January 1987 - August 1991 Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, University of Pittsburgh; In June 1988, he received a master's degree in Computer science from the University of Pittsburgh. He received his Ph.D. in Computer science from the University of Pittsburgh in June 1991. August 1991 - August 1996 Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, University of Dayton; August 1996 - August 2000 Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, University of Dayton, USA; August 2000 - August 2004 Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, Georgia State University, USA; From August 2004 to November 2020, Professor, Distinguished Professor, and State Board Professor, Department of Computer Science, Georgia State University; In November 2020, he served as Dean and Chair Professor of School of Computer Science and Control Engineering, Shenzhen University of Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Elected to the American Academy of Medical and Biological Engineering in 2021; In 2022, he was elected a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts.

Pan Yi has long been engaged in the interdisciplinary research of computer and bioinformatics.
